Designed for Wake, Tow, Kite and Pump Foiling
The Austin Tovey (AT) Pro Board was designed in partnership with multidisciplinary foiling wizard and Armstrong Team Rider, Austin Tovey. The goal for AT Pro was to leverage Austin’s skillset to push what’s possible for a pocket rocket board for high-performance wake, tow, kite, and pump foiling. He worked closely with Armstrong founder, lead designer, and full-time frother, Armie Armstrong, to best figure out how to precisely elevate our WKT MK II board into the ultimate extension-of-your-body board.
At just 3’4” (101cm) in length, the AT Pro is a tiny little thing, but, in comparison to the WKT MK II, we packed in more volume specifically where needed to improve jump recovery, whether for wake, tow, or kite foiling. We applied our new Quad Carbon Stringer System to the AT Pro to ensure that there’s even more meaningful rigidity and exceptional responsiveness all-around, as well as to ensure immediate uniform feedback for pumping. It’s the board for intermediate riders who want a do-all board for wake, tow, kite, and pump foiling, and for advanced riders who either want a specialized tool to hone their skillset in one of these disciplines or want the best of the best to just push it harder in all of them. As with all Armstrong products, the AT Pro is built in our very own factory with premium materials and fastidious attention to detail. The AT Pro comes with a fit-for-purpose carry bag.
Shape
Tailored for Austin Tovey. Made for madness.
Austin Tovey wanted something that would direct his movement directly into board and foil. In his own words, the AT Pro rides like “an extension of your body.” At just 3’4” (101cm) in length, the AT Pro is a tiny little thing that does it all. The shape of the AT Pro is primarily based on our WKT MK II, but with more compact dimensions overall and added volume specifically where needed to improve jump recovery, whether for wake, tow, or kite foiling. The compact shape provides maximum responsiveness all-around, instantaneously directing rider input into board and foil control. The AT Pro features a double concave bottom for powerful pop and seamless release, slight nose kick for jump and touchdown recovery, and minimal rocker for added stability.
Connection
Pioneered to feel it all. Like never before.
Our industry-leading i-beam Dual Carbon Stringer System has been taken to the next level with our new Quad Carbon Stringer System. It locks in place our in-house carbon fiber foil track box and runs across through the midway point of the board and up through to the deck, provides meaningful structural rigidity to the foil track box and board overall, significantly improves responsiveness across all axes (pitch, yaw, and roll), and enhances torque input into mast and foil. The reasoning behind our Quad is specifically to improve rigidity and responsiveness for super short ‘tray’ boards that are typically used for wake, kite, tow, and even pump foiling, especially when paired with wide-span foils, in such a way that’s just not needed for longer and larger boards. The AT Pro is kept as thin as possible to shorten rider distance to the foil without any compromise to weight or structural integrity. The Armstrong deckpad has been developed to get the most of out of instantaneously directing rider input into board and foil control. The EVA foam features micro-cutouts throughout the main two-thirds of the deck for confidence-inspiring grippiness for locked-in strapless riding. The rear-thirds of the deck features a full width surf-style kickpad with guiding markings for foil track placement and diamond traction bumps for full-force cranking turns. Holes in the deckpad are laser-cut for easy access to footstrap inserts.
Construction
Engineered to push harder. Built to keep up.
The AT Pro is built around a foam core, wrapped with an incredibly stiff double-skin carbon fiber and PVC sandwich. Our i-beam Quad Carbon Stringer System locks in place our in-house carbon fiber foil track box and runs across through the midway point of the board and up through to the deck. The AT Pro features additional carbon fiber layering strategically placed around the foil track box and primary weight-bearing zones on deck for added impact-resistance and overall durability, as well as additional PVC layering around nose, tail, and rails to help prevent dings.
