Kitepower QLD prefer to teach one-on-one for all lessons, this way you get maximum attention, and ultimately, get up and kitesurfing faster.
We can take you from your first flight right through to some of the more advance move including surf riding, course racing and freestyle.
Our lessons are conducted in Brisbane, at either at Brighton or Sandgate beach; both of which are only 30mins from Brisbane city, and 10 minutes from Redcliff. These spots are ideal to learn from and progress into the sport safely. The Kitepower Queensland kitesurfing school usesonly IKO (Internation Kiteboarding Organisation) certified instructors with experience of all types of kites. IKO instructors offer quality instruction customised to any skill level. At the end of your lesson we will issue you with your IKO kiteboarders card, which allows you to rent/buy gear all over the world; and certifies you as a competent kiteboarder.
We supply all the equipment you need for your lesson; Kitepower QLD uses the latest Cabrinha Switchblade and Ozone Catalyst kites with Underground and Cabrinha boards which give you the best quality ride possible while you learn. If you have your own gear, we are happy to use it for your kitesurfing lesson.
While this lesson is available to purchase online, please don't buy it as gift - buy a trainer kite, (see products below) or a DVD as a gift, if you must get a voucher then be aware that without prior trainer kite experience the student will not get up to a board in their first lesson, and will need an additional 3-4 lessons to become self reliant.

- The learn to kitesurf course is tailored to suit a complete beginner with trainer kite experience. We'll take you through everything you need to know, from setup, to basic kitesurfing technique, and by the end of your lessons, we'll have you up and running on a board.
- You get 2 x Standard lessons (see below) and 1 x Advanced lesson. These will most likely have to be on different days, or over a weekend.
- Equipment is supplied for all lessons. This includes your kite, board, harness and safety gear. (PFD and helmet)
- All of our lessons are run with one instructor for each student unless specified. We teach one-on-one to ensure you get the most from your lessons.
- Our Instructors are IKO Level 2 qualified. We will never teach with assistants, so rest assured - you'll be in safe hands.
- Lessons are run in 2 x 2 hour blocks, with a 1hr advanced lesson at the end.

We've found the best way to space these lessons is to have one lesson a week. This gives you time to rest and recover after each one. |

To get up and riding on the kiteboard might take more than one lesson, but we aim to get you up and running as soon as possible. Often students can continue learning in their own time and with their own gear after the initial lesson. We teach you how to be self reliant - not how to rely on an instructor.

Locations: |
Freestyle and trick lessons are conducted at Sandgate/Brighton. Course racing lessons are at Redcliffe. Surf lessons are on the Sunshine Coast. |

Note: |
Because these lessons are quite short - we reccomend you have the equipment set up before the hour begins. This way you get a full hour on the water. If we are supplying equipment, make sure you pick it up from us early. |

• Kiteboarding is extremely weather dependant. Your lesson may need to be postponed if Kitepower feels that conditions are unsafe or unsuitable. However, we cannot refund vouchers for weather conditions OF ANY SORT.
