Opening in August 2008, Kitepower Australia Queensland, or KPQ, is the newest addition to the Kitepower chain. Owner Jon Ashmore managed the Sydney store for two years prior to opening KPQ in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.

Jon started flying kites 12 years ago when his brother and sister, Graeme and Nicola, bought his first stunt kite, and can be found in the buggy during winter, on the water in summer and playing with one- and two-line kites all year round.

Managing the incorporated Brisbane Kitesurfing School is Rhys Porter & Lyatte Peach, both IKO qualified instructors who work year round teaching Kitesurfing, Buggying & Landboarding.

The two youngest members of the KPQ family - The Porter brothers help us out in the shop throughout the summer. They'll also teach you how to fly your new kites during a setup lesson.
